The Board

The Board serves as the executive body of ELSA Hungary. It is composed of the organisation's officers, who are elected by the General Assembly.

The responsibilities of the Board are set out in the Statutes of the Association. These include, among others, managing the day-to-day affairs of the Association, organising programmes and events, representing the Association, administering its assets, and carrying out all other duties that are not assigned by the Statutes to another governing body. The members of the Board are elected for a two-year term of office.

President - Noémi Ecsedi

The President of ELSA Hungary is responsible for leading the Board and overseeing its work. The President coordinates the activities of the Vice Presidents and supervises projects affecting the organisation as a whole. The President may represent the Association independently in external matters.

In addition, the President convenes and chairs meetings of the Board and determines their agenda.

Secretary General - László Tar

The Secretary General is responsible for ensuring that the Association and its Local Groups operate in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The Secretary General is also responsible for registering changes affecting the Association with the competent court registry.

The Secretary General ensures the consistency of the resolutions adopted by the General Assembly and the Board, as well as the Association's Statutes. The position also includes maintaining the membership records of both the Association and its Local Groups.

Furthermore, the Secretary General is generally responsible for fulfilling and reporting the obligations required by ELSA International. The Secretary General also oversees the operation and maintenance of the ELSA Hungary website.

Treasurer - Tóth Tamás

The Treasurer is responsible for the financial affairs of the Association. In particular, the Vice President prepares the Association's annual budget for approval by the Board, ensures that the Association's financial management complies with applicable laws and regulations, and is responsible for fulfilling the Association's financial obligations towards ELSA International.

Vice President in charge of Marketing -
Bartalis Claudia

The Vice President in charge of Marketing is responsible for the Association's public image and external communication. The role includes promoting the Association's past, current, and upcoming events, opportunities, and other relevant information.

The Vice President also ensures that the Association's social media platforms and communication materials comply with the branding and communication standards established by ELSA International.

Vice president in charge of Academic Activities - Horváth Fanni

The Vice President in charge of Academic Activities of ELSA Hungary coordinates publication and research projects at the national level and ensures their academic quality. The Vice President maintains continuous cooperation with ELSA International and the Local Groups to ensure that academic activities are implemented consistently and effectively across the national network.

The responsibilities of the Vice President include overseeing the operation of the ELSA Hungary Law Review, coordinating the academic work of the Legal Research Groups (LRGs), and leading the Annual Human Rights Campaign (AHRC) at the national level. The Vice President is also responsible for managing the ELSA4Schools and ROLE projects, which promote legal education and academic development among secondary school students.

Vice president in charge of Competitions -
Farkas András Zoltán

The Vice President in charge of Competitions is responsible for planning the Association's competitions, including preparing proposals regarding their budget, schedule, venue, theme, and all other arrangements necessary for their successful organisation.

Subject to the approval of the Board, the Vice President organises and oversees the competitions in accordance with the approved plans. The Vice President is also responsible for preparing and supporting members who participate in competitions organised by ELSA and by other organisations.

Vice president in charge of Professional Development -
Beer Bernadett

The Vice President in charge of Professional Development is responsible for ensuring that law students have access to the professional opportunities offered by ELSA. The Vice President oversees the development and implementation of the international traineeship programme, ELSA Traineeships, the national traineeship programme, ELSA Hungary National Traineeships Programme (EHNTP), and the ELSA Hungary Mentorship Programme, organised in cooperation with the ELSA Alumni network.

The responsibilities of the Vice President also include organising professional development events, in particular Lawyers@Work and the Career & Job Fair.

Vice president in charge of Seminars and Conferences - Várnai Jadranka

The Vice President in charge of Seminars and Conferences is responsible for ensuring that members have access to participation opportunities in events offered by ELSA Hungary. In fulfilling these responsibilities, the Vice President organises domestic and international professional study opportunities, including Study Visit programmes.

The Vice President is also responsible for providing members with opportunities to participate in ELSA's international academic programmes, including Summer Law Schools and Winter Law Schools.

Directors

The work of the ELSA Hungary Board is supported by teams of Directors. For the performance of specific professional tasks, whether for a defined period or on an ongoing basis, the Board may appoint or recall Directors upon the recommendation of the Board member responsible for the respective area.

A Director must be a member of one of ELSA Hungary's Local Groups. Further requirements and conditions for a Director position are published by ELSA Hungary in an open call.

A person serving as a Director within ELSA (European Law Students' Association) performs a variety of important tasks, among which the preparation of official documents plays a significant role. This includes drafting, compiling, and formatting documents related to ELSA's activities, while ensuring that they comply with applicable legal requirements and standards.

In addition, the Director maintains communication with third parties, including partners, sponsors, and other international and local organisations. This includes identifying opportunities for cooperation, conducting negotiations, and contributing to the establishment of agreements.

The Director is also responsible for procuring materials, including office supplies and equipment required for events. Furthermore, the Director participates in the preparation and submission of grant applications in order to secure support and funding for ELSA's activities.
